Alright fitness friends and faux's, let's go this show on the road. Let me start off with a little background on me: I'm 27 years old, 5'6" and weigh around 145. I do have a muscular build, so most of my weight is truly muscle, but I've got some fluff. I'm very active at the gym and outside of the gym. I live in New York City, so on an average day, I get off the subway a few stops early and walk for about 20 minutes the rest of the way to work. After work, I typically walk home, which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes (it's way better than being crammed on a smelly subway). I like to constantly be moving, so it almost pains me when I oversleep and miss my morning workout and going to the gym after work is just as crowded and smelly as the subway.
My journey isn't the typical "health and fitness journey" that most people see these days. My journey is honestly to find some new workouts to keep me in shape and won't burn me out. After about 9 years of working out 6 days a week, waking up at 5:00 a.m. - 5:30 a.m. to hit the gym, trying to find fitness routines that didn't become "routine" and boring, I have officially become tired. Maybe I'm getting older and it's my body fighting back at me telling me that I need more than 5 hours of sleep (ok, I'm not old, but sleep is a glorious treat, am I right?) , maybe it's me being a lazy shit (most likely). Whatever it is, I need to get my booty back up to speed because sitting still is not for me.
Since my morning workouts have become less frequent, I started looking into different things to do. My new routine, or lack of routine, began when I discovered some cool workout classes around the city. You will see more about these during my gym traveling reviews, as well as some workout ideas for when I do hit up the gym in the early A.M.'s. My Tone House review is currently up, so check it out to see where I'm going with all of this rambling. If you have any suggestions of where I should hit up next or if you have your own experiences to share, hit me up on Instagram or leave me a comment!
As for now, sit back, relax, and watch me become sore and sweaty by the second.
