Class I Took: Regular Rumble 45 minute class
Instructor: Tim
Location: Flatiron/Chelsea location
What I liked:
I really liked this as a fitness class, but note that this isn't necessarily a boxing class. I would classify it as a HIIT workout that has boxing mixed in. I have to be honest, I was a little taken aback by this because it just wasn't what I was expecting, but I still got a great workout in and some much needed stress relief.
One thing that I loved about this class was the tear-drop shaped boxing bags. I felt that it was easier on my wrists than a traditional bag. I also felt like I was able to throw better, more accurate punches during the boxing portions of class.
During the class, the combinations and the HIIT workouts are posted on a screen in the front of class, which is really helpful and easy to follow.
The front desk staff was super friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which I thought was great. The gloves actually felt clean and new and the interior is very appealing.
What I didn't like:
The amount of people taking their glam selfies for Instagram made me think that some people might not take the class seriously and were there more for the hype.
Something that I thought could be improved was the situation happening between the floor workout and the bag workout. I thought it was kind of hard for the trainer to keep up with the two completely different exercises happening at the same time, which was a little bit distracting.
Final thoughts:
Overall, if you are looking for an intense workout that includes something unique mixed in with your HIIT routines, this would be a great option to consider. The place has good vibes, it's clean, and it's a different way to let out some steam. I feel like if you were to attend Rumble classes a couple of times per week, it would whip you into shape. If they offered a 45 minute class for boxing technique only, I think this would be my go-to.
Price:
First-timers get a two-for-one for the cost of $34. Wraps are $6.00 and yours to keep. Glove rental is $3.00.
If you are interested only in boxing technique, you can book a personal training session for $175 per hour.

Will I return:
I will definitely return. This won't be my go-to spot, but it is convenient for me to go to the Flatiron/Chelsea location. I also saw that they are adding a location on the UES in 2018, which will also be great for me. For my next class, I will try a different trainer to get a new perspective.

Happy hitting!
